His pledge to her:
i will kill the spiders. i will share my fries with you when you’ve finished all yours and are still hungry. i won’t ever pop my collar. i will never be rude to your tummy- when i hear it growl and gurgle. i promise to bend down and reply respectfully. i will eat the mushrooms when we order the supreme pizza. i will kiss the papercuts. and the door-slammed finger, and the counter-bumped hip. i’ll try my hardest not to get annoyed when you whisper questions and comments during movies. i will be the big spoon. i will let you win at wrestling, sometimes. other times i will not. i will go faster. harder. i will pull when you want. and tease you when you don’t. i will send you random texts and leave you silly gifts. not always. not on schedule. just whenever i want to. whenever i think you need one. or seven. i will check your tire pressure. and remind you to take your car in. i will hold your hand. i will love you. i will love you. i will love you.
I’m pretty sure I’ve reblogged this before, but it’s so perfect.

Today marks Eleven months since we’ve been together. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs but evidently , love conquered everything. People tell me that she’s just a phase but they don’t feel what I feel. They can’t comprehend that I am in love with this girl, regardless of her gender. We are so compatible in more ways than one. She gets me. She understands me. She knows me. We are planning a future together and anyone who can’t understand why I love her so much is irrelevant to us. I don’t need to explain why I love her because that’s something no one will ever get. She has all of me and if there was a possibility I could give her more, I would.
When you love someone, don’t let other’s opinion affect your relationship. Everyone deserves to be happy, just like us. :)

King said in an interview that this photograph was taken as he tried to explain to his daughter Yolanda why she could not go to Funtown, a whites-only amusement park in Atlanta. King claims to have been tongue-tied when speaking to her. “One of the most painful experiences I have ever faced was to see her tears when I told her Funtown was closed to colored children, for I realized the first dark cloud of inferiority had floated into her little mental sky.”
